Title: Oil Leak
Post by: marlcdx on 23 November 2008, 10:20:40
Hi guys, I have an omega 2.0 cdx.  The car hasnt really run for over 6 months as I had it given to me.  Its due to go for a pre MOT this week.  I ran the car up to temperature yesterday, but as I took it out of the garage I noticed oil on the floor.  After looking under the car it looks like it is coming from the sump, but if I rev the engine you can see little plumes of blue smoke coming from underneath the bonnet, I assume this is oil dropping onto the manifold.  I cant see any oil leaks from the cam (but I am no mechanic trust me).  Also there was quite a bit of smoke coming from the exhaust, is this because it hasnt really been run for such a long time.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated as if the car is worth fixing I cant wait to get it onto the road.

sadly, you need to locate visually.  could well be cam cover (check spark plug wells for oil)

CAm covers - had it myself -  quite an easy job and do the breathers at the same time.

The gaskets harden so not neccessary caused by blocked breathers

Done my old 2.0 and my current 2.6
