normal programming procedure (when changing fob battery) is to put key in ignition and turn ignition on,then press one of the buttons on the fob until the doors lock and unlock, job done. Not sure if the same applies to new fobs. :-/

If it's a brand new key it needs to be programmed to the car.
For that you need your car pass, and have it programmed with a TechII.
Where abouts are you?

Fill in your profile with your location, we may be able to direct you to a tech 2 owning member. Fairly sure the key, car pass(or the security number on it) and the car with tech2 all need to be present at once to
Match the key to the car. Considerably cheaper via oof than vx. If you dont have the car pass details only place to get that is from the dealer with proof of ownership, and they will charge again. Pm The Boy on here, he will post you out if poss. :-)
