Title: will my 3.2 airflow meter work on a 2.5v6
Post by: Simon_Omega on 24 November 2008, 19:14:02
im trying to trouble shoot problem with a 2.5 v6 on a 2000 W with airflow part number 280 217 519
and i also own a 3.2 mv6 with part number 0281 00218 and wondered:

if i try out the 3.2 one in the 2.5 engine bay to see if the engine works any better, will it be ok or do i need an exact match?

no...... different connectors! i think the 3.2 will have an oval connector and the 2.5 will have a square connector!

Different part, 3.2 MAF also does Air temp whereas 2.5 and 3.0 have seperate Air temp sensor.

ok cheers case closed then!

what it is,  its running rough and not combusting properly, but all spark leads working ok,   there is a fault code in the memory (but not lit currently) about the maf, but i did unplug the maf during fault finding. so that could be why its logged.   its a bloody nuisance as i have 5 offers on it on flea bay yet cant iron out the running problem! rest of car is like new and like a dream!
