Title: Help with Selector Switch
Post by: Carl on 23 November 2008, 03:08:10
After a bit of trial and error, I think that i've narrowed my problem down to the selector switch on the autobox, after reading all that I can find there seems to be a general opinion that a new one is about £120 can anyone tell me if this is a genuine part?

When I rang my local dealer they wanted £250+VAT :o

So if anybody can tell me where I might get one that would be great :y

Also does anyone have the part number.

I have a 2.2CD Auto X Reg

What was the problem? No need to repeat yourself if there is another thread you've been running, just a pointer/link to that one would be great.

Yeah i've cahnged oil filter taken selector switch off cleaned it and noticed contacts on pcb worn off so need a new switch just not sure where to get one.

Little bit sticky when driving but completely screws up when it's wet so seal obviously gone as well.

very common for them to fail as they are in the line of the weather(splashed from the road)

are you getting all the lights on your console up? and jittery
also you should be getting on the diagnostic program

P1700      Transmission Indeterminate Failure (Failed to Neutral)
