Use Vauxhall 10/40 semi synthetic and a genuine vauxhall oil filter.
If you join Autobahnstormers club for £20 a year you get a Vauxhall trade card.
This entitles you to certain parts at a big discount.E.G buy 4x5 ltr oil for around £30,and the oil filter is less than £2.
change the oilevery 3-4,000 miles. This helps prevent the breathers from becoming blocked which causes many of the common reliability issues with the Omega. :y

yes matey 10W40 semi synthetic is fine- i found a reciept for a filter and 5W30 in my old 2.0 why on earth they decided that was better i dont know!
also regular oil changes help keep the engine clean and seem to get slightly better performance than a poorly maintained omega (going on what some people have said and also the fact i managed sub 10 seconds to 60 instead of the stated 12.7 is it in my 2.0 auto)

My local Vx dealer is doing 10w 40 semi for £17.99 for 5 litres and the filter for £6

Seems very reasonable to me  ;)

Get one then, most people go for a ABS card as it is issued quickly. I went for Migweb, takes longer but does the same job and has saved me a fortune :y

Give Alf at ABS an e-mail if you have a card that is not being accepted.... he is excellent at sorting out recalcitrant stealers .. :)
