Post by: nick v6 on 10 December 2008, 15:37:31
im still haing trouble with the heater controls in the car which i was told was the vacum pipes
ive looked on the guides on this site about the layout and ive had a good look at my car and cant make head or tales of it all :-?

the set up in the diagram looks different to the set up on my car

any ideas anyone or does anyone live close enough to pop by and have a look

Vacuum pipes? Really?

More likley to be a blocked heater or duff Heater Bypass Valve. Have you checked coolant level?

coolant level fine
its the controls for the heater to change it from windscreen to feet etc etc

if the problem is with the direction you want the air to point to (eg. floor/vents/screen) then it IS the vaccum pipes that control this function, I know as one of my cars will only blow on the screen, >95 had a diffferent layout of vaccum pipes than 96> so I cant even copy the layout from one of my other cars, frustrating!  >:(

The motor noise is the air injection pump and plays no part in this setup.

There is a diagramatic view in the miantenance section for how both the early and late setups SHOULD be
