Would drowning resulting in a Hydrolock damage a MAF?
I ask on the basis that from other posts they seem sensitive to abuse
If a MAF was faulty on a Traktor, what would be the likely effect?

Yes it would. Not so sure about effects on the tractor but on mine (2.0l) the car will have a tendency to stall, have some trouble starting and the idle will be all over the place.

iirc the tracktor wont rev cleanly if the maf is buggered try dissconecting it :y

Easy to check on trakker...
Unplug MAF, and use car for a day or so, plug back in and take for a drive. If its more responsive on pick-up with maf in, its working.
The difference is subtle, hence why you need to drive it for a while unplugged.
Notice, being gay BMW, it will NOT bring on EML due to MAF unplugged - BMWs rarely bring on EML, as that helps improved perceived reliability.

The maf does pretty much bugger all on this engine...

yes unplugged it, went normal left it unplugged until a got a reasonable price 2nd hand one
