Title: Wheel size on a 3.0l Meggie
Post by: Hoffi on 15 December 2008, 14:12:36
I just bought a set of steel wheels from a 2000 reg Saab thinking they would fit, THEY DON'T!!!!  >:(

Allthough it is a 5 stud wheel with 110 diameter it only comes with the dimension 6x15 ET49 which is not enough to fit over the front calipers! Knowing the issue from the Golf Mk2 G60 I started at the front and after mounting one wheel and trying to turn it, it came up with scratching on the outside of the caliper.
Quick check on the spare wheel - why should stupid me do that BEFORE buying a set of wheels  :-[ - I would have needed 6 1/2 x 15 ET33.

As I want to go to Snowdonia next weekend I will hardly be able to find the right set of wheels before going!  :( And I hate trains!!!  >:(

So just for the record: If steel wheels are wanted this is the dimension you need: 6 1/2 x 15 ET33, 5 studs, 110 diameter

Spare only is a 15" steel!  Early Elites had 16" alloys (pre facelift 1999/some 2000 and earlier), later had 17" alloys.  A set of 15" steels is not a good idea!!!

6 1/2 x 15 ET33 is what Opel says you should use for winter tires on Omega - not that many of you in the UK actually do. But than, you don't drive Opel  :) And for the record, winter tires should be 195/65R15.

Am wandering if this is the application Eibach had in their mind when they came up with them  :P
