anyone know is it ok to run a miggy on Super unleaded without making any adjustments.all i know is one is 95 RON and the other is 97 RON whatever that means.

I have used super unleaded in my car, not made any adjustments so its ok to use it, but remember to fill up every third tank full with ordinary unleaded.

Car will run fine on super unleaded. Its a good chance to get the injectors clean after prolonged use on cheap supermarket fuels.

Why? Ran my Omega for all the time I had it on V-power and only used standard unleaded when out and about and there was no option nearby when empty...

Dont see any reason why it would make any differance, except cost more? Why, whats up?

theres no problem, I was told it gives smoother running and more even power delivery I don't know if thats true or just myth thats why i thought i would ask the top guys for an opinion.

I have found that the car always seemed sluggish on the acceleration side and I appreciate that they are heavy cars and mines only a 2.2ltr so I was chatting to a friend who runs his own car maintenance business he said to me you should try changing to super unleaded because he claimed it burns better and cleaner so gives a stronger and better power output,as I was unsure because in my handbook it states 95 RON which is normal unleaded, I sort of cast my mind back to when unleaded first hit the pumps and only newer cars could use it and at the time I had a little metro with an A Series engine which ran on 4 star I remember these had to have a head change to accomodate unleaded because of valve damage thats basically why i was looking for a general concensus as to what other people use.

OK.
Omega is absolutely fine to run on unleaded without modification. Its how they left the factory.... Use of super unleaded will give a better performance, cleaner burnd, and will clean injector pintles in the process.
Cars designed for Ye Olde leaded 4* petrol (such as your elderly A series engine etc) needed fettling to accomodate the removal of 'lead' from the fuel content as it acted as a lubricant on the valves, amongst other reasons. Use of unleaded (of any sort) in such an engine without modification or fuel additives causes problems....
You are safe to use Ultimate/V-power etc in your Omega without problem (except possibly on your wallet) and worthwhile for the reasons given. :y

the ecu on all petrol omegas will run either unleaded or super unleaded there is no lead in either so wont damage anything.super unleaded has the same octane rating as the old 4 star and as such has better combustion in the cylinders. slightly better running on su than reg u

i usually still BP Ultimate in mine, does not cost that much more, i find its much smoother under idle, and it does give a little extra about 3.5/4k rpm.
Been putting only BP fuel in for the past year or so now, really have noticed a difference, runs a lot better :y

Hello, I will run on nothing other than Shell Optimax, it gives a good return on economy and smoother responce from my Miggy 3.2 V6!! :y
