This came up just the other day  ;)... one up, the other down!  :y

All the levers do is crop the left upsweep of the dipped beam off to give a level dipped beam for driving on the wrong side of the road. If you pull up to a wall/garage door, you'll see the dipped beam pattern is normally like ... \____   \____ if not, the lever is in the wrong position.  :y

As above - passenger side lever down, drivers side lever up(assuming right hand drive car!!) for uk driving .  Should give asssymetric beam as above.  Opposite for Euro driving - symetric beam pattern - flat.
