Title: code 16 - Knock sensor 1
Post by: DC on 21 December 2008, 16:05:10
I used to get this last winter, but haven’t had it for a long time. Now it started re-appearing but only occasionally. Does anyone have any idea what can possibly be wrong?

2-3 different types, one is Shell other are local brands, unknown in the UK. It doesn't look like it is fuel dependent

I have heard that it can be down to sensitivity of fuel, but in my case I am affraid it is not the case. Drove across Europe this summer and was fuelling with any brand of fuel that was available  - no difference.

i may decide to pour in one of those injector-cleaners fuel additivies, or alternatively fill-up with RON 98 couple of times just to see what happens
