Title: wheel judder

Hi everyone.
Merry xmas and a happy new year to all.
have had my omega 3 wks now running great just a small niggle when i brake from about 55-60 I get a small wobble on the steer wheel . Had the wheels rebalanced which seemed to make it a little better but because it runs so well I'd like it 100% any suggestions

wobble under braking would suggest warped discs mate ...

Worn front wishbone bushes can also cause the same effect.

imho, if the judder is always there everytime you brake then jack the car and spin the front wheels in turn, concentating on any resistance/rubbing/shhh noises from the discs/pads, any intermitent resistance/rubbing/shhh noises would indicate warped discs, usually caused by either seized piston or slider on the caliper. The discs also may not be mounted centraly if they are not original.(loosen disc retaining bolt and tighten the wheel nuts into the disc to centre, tighten disc bolt, remove wheel bolts re fit wheel)
If the judder is not always there,  braking very gently for instance gives no judder, and sudden stab bt the pedal does, then most likely wishbone bushes. And thats another story. Hth

also, use a 5 stud balancer, cone balancer is not accurate enough. Just a thought. Cheers

actually testing which one is easy..

find a relatively bad road close to your parking area.. (dont go long

distance) drive the car for few minutes..if there is a judder without

brakes, wishbones are guilty.. but also both can be which is the worst

scenario..

In my experience braking on motorway slip roads causing a judder is shot wishbone bushes.

Wishbones (complete with bushes) are around £25 each side.

...for aftermarket items. Lemforder, who make them for GM are 120 a pair from autovaux, or 220plus a side with the sticker from vx.

Whats different about motorway slip roads?

My guess its warped discs.

I had this problem on my Mondeo, only done it above 40mph...

As i suspected warped discs.

Changed discs and pads and problem sorted!
