Title: Leather seats
Post by: bighed on 28 December 2008, 18:01:45
Just been up to see MutantCav to have full grey leather interior fitted in my mig. Big thumbs up to chris for doing the job!  :y :y :y

There is, as on most leather drivers seats, some wear to the one bolster.

Is there anything I can do to help this??

TIA  :) :y

I think its past that tbh. Was just thinking that, with all this smart repair stuff available nowadays some repair might be done?  :)

Do a google search. I have been toying with the idea of getting my drivers seat recoloured. Not sure of the cost but it more of a game finding a specialist than the cost of doing it.

I repaired a wear patch on my Carlton GSi by cutting a chunk of leather from under the seat where it overlapped where it was fixed to the frame.

Cut it to shape with a sort of plus 10 mm where possible, roughed up the edges, then evo sticked it in place under the original so only the repair patch shone through the hole.

Once dried, used appropriate colour leather dye to stain as required then polish up.  By no means perfect, but much better than the stuffing showing through.

There you go, a google search done for you.
There are other sites out there also. Not sure how hard it is to exactly match colours.
