The foam around the wire on my seat has worn/burned away and now only the cloth is between my arse and the hot wire. It's like sitting on a toaster! :'(
Is it repairable or is it the end for toasty legs for me?

I think It's a major job to repair you have to remove the upholstery and re-stitch afterwards. The easier option is to replace the whole seat from the scrappies

Don't think you'll find a silver one though ::)

Yep, I had that same problem and I bit the bullet to have it repaired. When the car went in for a service the seat was removed and sent away to have the heater pads replaced. This took two days and with the cost of the pads (which I think had to be ordered and sent over from the continent) and taking the leather off it was about £300 I think.
Not cheap, but I like a heated bum and back and I must spend more money on the Omega than SWMBO... ;D

IIRC, yours are cloth seats. As people like to 'upgrade' to leather (why?) there are a few cloth seats offered on here occasionally?

Agree about "why leather" .I have leather recaro seats in my Elite and this time of year they are like a torture to sit on ...very VERY cold,especially as heater element in mine is also knackered,but expect they would take ages to warm-up anyway.
