Never been a fan of plasmas. Too much to go wrong, which probably explains the low mtbf

It used to be you had to have plasma for large size, not so now.  Plasmas used to be able to do better blacks, but less so now with current lcds

I doubt you will have problems with viewing angles.

remember, the tv sections in currys etc is not the same as your house. Try to view some in friends/family homes?

Don't by 1 that's to big for the room.

If its to big for you wont get the true picture quality.

I have  42'' have had it almost 4 year now, never had any problems with it, the viewing angles are fine don't have any issues if you sit at the side of the TV you don't lose any picture or does'nt darken. :y, However, i had one before the current one and I had a major problem with it ::)
