Title: Dash lights
Post by: V6CDBOY on 09 January 2009, 22:13:21
Picked up my new miggy tonight. I've noticed that the lower left hand section of the speedo is dark;
I'm assuming this is simply a blown bulb? How easy are these to replace or is it a garage job!!!!

The bulbs mate are very easy to replace. You don't need to take the car to a garage you can do this yourself. I do believe there is a how too on here in the maintanence section.

I've had a look through the maintenance section. Does anyone know the link for the speedo bulb changing process?

I found the link to the thread:

Once you have removed the clock panel (instrument panel) you will see all the bulb holders. These bulbs just twist and pull out. Best to replace all of them if needed or just replace the one thats blown. Then just replace the clock panel in the same way but in reverse.

Replace them all IMHO ... it seems as if as soon as you replace a blown one with a "strong" new one .. the other old ones will give up the ghost.

Once you have the dash out you might as well do the lot IMHO

I agree Entwood. I would certainly replace all of them at least you know there all done and might, just might last a long time.

It should just pull straight out as you pull the clock panel out. Be careful though cause the info dispaly plug needs to be disconnected. With that you lift up the black release and then pull off.

The connector for the MID is a pain to remove if you've not done it before, it took me a while but it comes straight out without needing to pull it down.
