Title: Sills

When I crashed my nice old (now 2nd omega) I did a little damage most is repaired (or being) at the moment. However when I slid into a set of little trees the door took a hit. Now the bottom of the door is bent inwards and so is the sill. Now are sills changable? I ask as i thought they were not however I have found;

Would that be a cover for the inside or would it be the bit on the outside which I want/need to fix/change?

the link to that pic is not the plastic cover, its a replacement weld in metal panel that the plastic cover should fit over after fitting.

You can change sills....quite involved but ok if you can wield a MIG

How much would I be looking to pay someone to do it for me?

Or even would it pass the MOT/be safe like above?

what i done on my old rover was to cut along the right angle with a nibbler then put a wide chisel into the slot, eased out the dent then migged the cut back up afterwards, as the plastic sideskirt will cover the lower part of the sill its only the doorstep that will have to look pretty, alot easier than fitting an oversill :y

it will pass an MOT as long as its not rotten or split near a seatbelt mounting.
