hiya,
iv just bought a 3.0 and managed to get a bit of diesel in the fuel tank (dont ask) anyway i diluted with about 40 pounds of petrol.
the car seems to have plenty of torque and has been very sideways and a bit squirmy in a straight line at times (hehe) so seems fine below 3000 revs maybe but in the top end theres like no power and seems to take forever to get upto speed over 50/60 mph even downhill it doesnt seem any real difference.
it seems to me asif its the engine not getting enough air but under light load it seems to run a bit crappy and stuttery but if you rev it a little bit more it seems fine (over about 2500rpm)
btw dont think its a vac leak but i might check the multiram solenoids anyway
thanks
thanks if anybody can help or suggest what to check

Fuel filter maybe clogged
-
ok thanks matey ;)
i'v got a brand spanker so i'll get that put on tomorrow at markey marks if i can get those "quick" release clips off!
-
Exhaust blockage ?
-
doubt it, exhaust is blowing before the backbox so i think it should be rather free flowing lol!
-
Markey Mark can verify the car was running beautifully before you put the diesel in it as he sorted the cam covers so I would certainly start with things such as fuel filter for the poor running lol It was blowing rather a lot of white smokey crap out the back once you put the decent fuel in it...
So the diesel came from the fuel tank of the black car?? Which is running very rough too...hmmm coincidence? lol
-
By the way Markey said he had a decent brake servo pipe to put on it if you remember to ask when your there, unless you put one of the ones you have on it already??

no it was out of one of my jerry cans and iv put a decent but not known good or not brake servo hose so i'll just have a play with it at marks

The gerry can you brought with you had unknown fuel in it which turned out to be diesel? lol

yep... god job it was half full lol!
anyway gna change the fuel filter and fuel rail
-
Hmmm wonder why the car struggled to start then when added to a near empty tank of fuel! lmao :y
-
lmao! as soon as i saw smoke pouring out the pipe i thought what was in the bloody jerry can
-
twonk! lol
-
Dont suppose you have put any random unknown cans of 'fuel' in the black car have you since you had it?
-
Gotta be a new record for you Alex?? Managed to break the car before even putting the key in the ignition!! lol

lol no lol iv only put a bit of 97 ron in it which is about gone or if not already gone (i only put a couple of quid in when i was trying to get it running properly)
-
Christ, have you bought yet another one. What are you trying to do, set an omega breaking yard :D ;D
-
lol Alex breaks them...then gives them back to me to break and scrap lol
-
Well hes had a bloody lot of them over the last few months!! :D
-
lmao i dont break them chris!
the black one came to me already broken by the stupid idiots that previously owned them to you (like somebody that snaps a timing belt then sticks another one on thinking that it'll be fine)
