Mine's been doing it for a couple of months now... No faults logged when the tech 2 was plugged in... Strange thing is that it seems to do it loads of times on oof journey and then be fine for ages!

Try a reset as the easiest cheapest fix first. Push in and hold at fully open, closed & tilt, and wait for movement to stop at each position.

As Andy B says, do a full reset (have you had to jump start recenty?), full open, tilt, close, and hold the switch in for a least 5 sec on each one.

May want to do all the windows as yer there.

had this on mine, but after dis connecting the battery, went to reset, after reconnection and it would not close the last 2 inches. had to disconnect the battery again to unset it/make it need re setting again. Then, after a couple of attempts, and a panic as it was raining by then, i reset in the open position first, THEN the closed and tilt position and all was well. Don't ask me why, no idea... :-/

Mine did that yesterday too, noticed the increase in road noise, checked all the windows then noticed the roof had just tilted slightly.

How strange its happened to so many of us..

This appears to be quite common! Mine does exactly the same. Driving along and it will open by itself. I call it an auto sunroof feature.  :)

Mine loses the end/mid point setting every now and then.

One touch is great until you leave the sunroof open overnight (in summer in the garage) and it won't close - just re-opens until manually held as per a reset.

I've never been aware of any fix for this.

Mine does it too. To be honest it's that intermittent (once or twice a month) that I didn't think it was worth the while trying to fault fine the problem.

Inside the motor is a disc. Strip and clean. Should solve it :y

These have not got anti pinch on them have they, because the cold may stiffen it up and make it think theres resistance (ie arm in way)

You tried lubing her up ?  :)

I've often found on my sunroof that the internal control is a bit 'twitchy' - i.e. the sunroof will suddenly tilt open at any time, and if i nudge the knob a tiny fraction back to the closed position it will close.

I suppose I should strip down and clean the knob at some point, but that's the lowest item on my list of things that need attention.

I have been told by a pal of mine that works for vx  that this problem is normally an ecu fault on the sunroof motor.. The ecu is i think part of the motor and is very expensive to buy new, so try resetting the memory on it and hope that it does not do it again. I have had the same issues but just reset it and forget it, unless you have an ongoing problem.

It may very well be an ECU of sorts , but the all the electrickery is built into the motor unit .... I had one fitted to my Senator and it worked just like the Omega's.

I had this problem. To fix it take the interior light panel off (see the how to's) take the lid off the sunroof motor unit. you'll see a brown disc. take the disc off, clean it with wd40 & a rag 2-3 times. the last time you spray, dont wipe it, let it dry. reassemble & re programme it.

I've just seen this thread.

Came back from France las weekend in very cold weather and while the car was in the Eurotunnel the sunroof started tilting open and closed one or two notches.

The car was in Park with the ignition off but the key was in the slot.

I removed the key and the roof stayed shut and it has been fine since.

Sometimes I think these cars are just too complex for their own good.

It is a bit weird that this happened in the middle of the tunnel.

It was waving goodbye to mainland Europe where it originally came from! ;)
