I have to do one of these, before end of Jan >:(
I did some semi self employed work last year.
Question is, I think I need some sort of once-annually payslip, which I don't have :-/

Sorry carnt help James......its all a mystery to me.....I let my accountant do it all.....its worth it for me.....he claims for stuff i hadnt even thought off.....
I got a rebate last year :y .......summat to do with LPG conversion apparently amongst other stuff....I could claim LPG conversion all in one go.....appose to omega which I can only 25%/year depreciation on
Sometimes its pays to pay an accountant......if hes good he will save you more than his fees :y

Hmm.... it's the P60 I need, I've requested a copy from my employer
Now... the tax return that I need to complete by 31 Jan 08 - I'm guessing this will be for the period of April 06 to April 07?

I plan to get it out of the way, within a week or 2!

If you are self employed, remember and claim for all expenses you incurred in doing the job. Any miles claim 40p/mile, plus any materials you had to buy. This will reduce the income on what youhave to pay tax, so with luck you might get a rebate :y

I doubt you will need to submit the P60 - its just a useful summary of what you have been paid and any tax already deducted. Otherwise you'll have to add up your payslips.
I'd get it out of the way. You don't want to find on Jan 31 that you're missing something else..
