Great thanks for that . Is it best use GM ones :question

..suspect that price/pn was just for the front disk and pad set.. As far as I recall the rears are not available as a set and would probably end up slightly more.

I used these guys (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-MINTEX-FRONT-BRAKE-DISC-AND-PADS-1999_W0QQitemZ360061028067QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item360061028067&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318) for the front disks and pads for my 3.2; Mintex delivered the next day for £63.

Thanks will look into them :y
Just be aware that 'cheap' discs may well cost you more in the end ...... been there many years back with the Senator. Pattern discs lasted about 4000 miles before they ran out of true, needless to say the suppliers weren't interested - must've been me that fitted them wrong >:( - GM discs gave no problems at all.

The important thing when fitting disks is to ensure that the hub and mating face of the disk are absolutely clean. Ideally use a Dial Gauge to ensure they run true within a few thou (or .01s of a mm!!). Check with the wheel nuts nipped up and not just the hex retaining screw.

But ..... if the materials they're made from is cheap, you tend to get localised hot spots causing them to warp. Mine were fine for the first few thousand miles. If they had been fitted with sh1te under the mating faces, I'd have had a judder from he first day they were fitted. Talking to the lads at Vauxhall, they said they'd given up on pattern parts them selves, especially the bigger sizes cos they kept coming back under their 12 months warrenty.
I do have various DTI's too, to clock them up afterwards. :y

Just a little question about brake discs.
What is the recommended minimum thickness of standard GM front discs,
Haynes manual states 21/25 for 4pot/6pot up to 98 and 25mm for all models 1998 onwards. My manual only covers up to year.99, have the overall sizes changed for models after 99 (i.e diameter, max and min thickness). Have not been able to find new manual for 2002 mv6.

I agree with Andy from personal experience - fit only GM front discs and pads. My local stealer said straight away when I collected GM disc and pad set - brake judder? - bet you got pattern discs fitted - he was so right.
Rears less demanding and believe pattern ok.
