Hi,
My omega is idling at just under 100rpm when I switch on in the morning, was just over 500rpm last week. Blocked breather hoses? Anyone like to point out where to check? Diagram maybe? :-/
Cheers,
Iain

Idle increases as it warms up? Suspect CTS?
(Note: being a BMW engine, most failing or failed sensors do NOT bring on EML)

Hi,
CTS? Idle doesn't increase, soon as throttle is moved it dips back to 500rpm

Coolant temp sensor. 2 CTS on that beemer unit, both in head. One (the single wire one) is used for dash, other (2 wire) used by ECU
-
If yours is paperclippable (about 50% of TDs are), iirc, cts is a 15

Hi,
The stat is gone on it, nothing to do with that would it? Problem to repalce? Any need?

Stat is easy on TD, though unrelated to your idle
-
if stat is stuck open cts will never get to correct temp!!! :y

Hi,
Might be the problem then, going to get done this weekend, after i've managed to get the fan off ::), and the rear discs and shocks done, and the steering idler ;D
Cheers,

Don't forget - viscous fan is left-hand thread.
A sharp jolt usually starts it undoing.
