right chaps got a 2.6 to rebuild after cambelt failure !! which heads would work better 2.5 or 3.0 ?? tia :y
-
Late (post 98) 2.5 heads are the same I am told....
-
cheers mark ! so would 3.0 heads be any detrement to it its just i have a set of recon ones with all new valves and they have been skimmed :-/
-
They would lower the compression ratio.....
They need to be post 98 heads as these have the extra casting sections with tapped holes to support the DIS packs.

dont suppose you know how much ?? would it have much effect on power ?? :-/

According to my calcs, it would take it from 10:1 down to 8.36:1
Thats a big drop and would affect performance and economy
-
i can try and find out if my 2.5 heads are post 98 if you want mark?

right okie dokie mark, it might be tonight (but probably tomorrow when i can get pics)
also... i thought it was just the camcovers that stopped you using the coil per plug ignition rather than the heads too :-/

no mate in the alloy around the spark plugs there is tapped holes to bolt the coilpacks down mate :y

oh... those stupid things!
i'll have a look tonight or tomorrow (doubt it'll have them tbh)
why not just not both with the little torx bolts? the seemed like right little barstuards to pull off/out so dont imagine they would "NEED" them imo

had a look at my 2.5 heads mark and they dont have the two bolt holes for the coil per plugs :(
