Title: Low temprature on engine
Post by: DanielF on 22 January 2009, 21:37:29
Hi folks!
I have a problem on my 2.0 16V 1997 mod. Omega. The engine temp. is very low, specially when I'm using the heater and drive at a steady pace. The only time the temp is getting up to 90 degs. is when I turn down the heater and drive with high revs on the engine. Is it the thermostat that is stuck open or could it be something else?
 :-?

I hope so. I'll change it and hope it fixes the problem! Thanks! :)

I had a similar problem. Mine only got remotely warm on the guage after a fair old up-hill drag.
Changed the stat and it was sorted.  :y

Same problem for me too on my LPG V6.  The needle only moves when sat in traffic, after a good long run.  It warm up much quicker when LPG and heating is off, although not a quick as it should do.  I think LPG has a cooling effect too.

I take it Stat for the V6 is just as problematic as on a 2ltr?

Cheers
