wonder if anyone can offer any advice. Was just driving home and car fine but when I put it in sports mode to help overtake the engine electrics light came on. Took sports mode off and drove home steadily and she seemed fine. Recently had new oil cooler and aux belt and tensioner. Its a 2.5 v6 auto. Any ideas on what its likely to be or else how to access fault codes. Will get it in to garage Tues hopefully, but will it be ok to drive tommorrow (25 mile run to work)?
thanks jerry :-/

So can anyone tell me what code 59 is and is it going to be ok for me to use the car today before I can get it in to garage tommorrow? Thanks guys,

59 = Intake manifold valve low---- Check connector at rear of multi-ram passenger side. :y
31 = No RPM signal. Paperclipped with engine not running :question

Cheers Rob,
Ive just found it on marks dtm post under tech info (should have looked harder before!), but wasnt 100% if applied to mine. All I have to do now is find out what that means and how much!!Thanks again Rob,

Check round the plenum area for any loose connections, trapped wires etc. Seeing as the oil cooler was done recently may be one of the aforementioned. If you `clipped it with the engine running 31 is the cam sensor :y

Did the test with engine off, hence code 31. I cant see any loose wires, or connections but tbo dont really know what im looking for! If , during my fiddling I have corrected a problem with a loose connection would the warning light still stay on until cleared manually or should it go off? At the momment its still on. Sorry for my ignorance Rob,
jerry

Found it!!(I think!),
Should look harder. Just checked with petes v6 layout post and, youre right Rob, there is a connection come off right at the back by the multiram.Didnt see it earlier. Only problem is with the size of my fingers and lack of tools is managing to get the bugger back on! If I cant get to do it, will car still be ok to use for today?

the connector should go back in easily it is a one way type connector meaning theres a small nudge on one side and a clip on the other side that locks onto the plug
