Just got todays update from Big Rod.
He set off from Fife yesterday and drove the 400 miles to Henley (for the over night stop) with very few problems. I say very few because the paint job is not holding up to great and is starting to peel and the laptop packed up!
So at midnight last night it was out with the paint brushes for a quick touch up job (its a wonder nobody called the Police!) and then off to buy a laptop today.
Hes now in Dover (or should be, when he texted he was 50 miles away) ready for the ferry trip to Calais and the meet up at the weird bar near the French Asylum camp for a few beers before getting a good nights sleep ready for the big off in the morning.

I had to spend a night in Calais last year when the MV6 threw its rattle out. Not a particularly nice place to spend the night....

Good news to hear that no probs with car then ?

good start then for Big Rod - apart from the laptop - lets keep our fingers crossed

Hey! Tinternet access!!
Bad though! foreign keyboard, so Ill keep it quick.
550 (ish) miles today and the car has behaved impeccably. The computer equipment however has a very short life expectancy!
Only took two or three wrong turns and didn"t get arrested!
The other Batmobile"s bailed out "cos it"s clutch threw it"s dummy out.
Over the Alps tomorrow!
;D
