Posted originaly in the ICE section by mistake so deleted that and this is a re-post ;D
The car seems to idle anywhere from 85-95 degrees. Getting back from town today it was sat around 95 degrees and the fan was going overtime. Opened the bonnet and only one of the fans were spinning. The one behind the rad i read to be the aircon fan and that wasn't spinning. Then the two at the front of the rad.. only one going. Very loud.
Is this at all abnormal? Or will they come on in stages depending on the temp.. ?
Cheers!

Normal running temperature is halfway up the gauge and should be reasonably stable.
The two fans in front of the radiator will be running all the time the air conditioning compressor is clutched in and may come on to help cooling at high temperatures if the compressor is not running.
One may be siezed, can you turn it by hand?
The main cooling fan is the one behind the radiator and runs at different speeds depending on temperature. The engine needs to be pretty hot for that to happen, this time of year I almost never see the main fan in use.

Ah right ok, sounds about right then. The aircon works fine so i can't see that being a problem. Just took a short journey through town in it. As soon as it got to about 85ish the fan kicked in full whack and went back of soon as the temp dropped.
As long as it doesnt go above 95 then il leave it be!
Cheers buddy
