HI THERE EVERYBODY!!!I'VE AN INTERESTING PROBLEM WELL 2 ACTUALLY,FIRSTLY MY NORMAL KEY FOB USES BATTERIES QUITE QUICKLY,IF YOU GET WITHIN RANGE OF THE CAR IT OPENS THE BOOT AND KEEPS TRYING UNTIL IGNITION STARTED!ANY IDEAS??ALSO 2ND KEY AS A REMOTE DOESN'T WORK BUT WILL SILENCE ALARM AND START CAR WHEN IGNITION IS USED???ANY IDEAS??THANKS :)

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Put the second key in the ignition and then lock and unlock the doors using the remote, oh and don't shout, turn the caps lock off ;)

2nd Problem = The remote needs syncing up IIRC you put in the keys turn to Position 1 and press the unlock/lock on the fob

Sounds like a faulty switch on the first key (when you start the engine on a later facelift - I presume yours is being a 2.6 - the boot popping is disabled from the key).

PM member Martin Imber here who offers a repair service.

The battery on both my keys and the two for the last Omega I had seem to have a very short battery life and a short range on them as well so I would guess it's standard on the three button keys. The one for my old Vectra would work across a carpark!

Sounds like the boot release button may be jammed for your first problem!
