Title: Engine turns, won't start!
Post by: Robmetaxa on 31 January 2009, 09:29:24
Hi, Just wondering if any of you guys can help with this issue i'm having, I,ve had a 2.6 v6 cd for nearly 5 years, been outstanding all this time, with only a wheel bearing and a thermostat that have caused problems, so apart from routine stuff, I have never needed to get under the bonnet!!
Well for the last week or so i've had problems starting, the engine will turn over, but nothing, changed keys, still no joy, engine managment light did go out for the few times this problem occured, after a period of about 20/30 mins try to start again and the engine starts with the flick of the key, until a few days later!! when we have the same again!!! now until last night the engine management light did go out, when you first put the key in the ignition, with the rest of the lights, but stays on, until the engine starts after about 20/30 again, then goes out!
Been reading some of the post on this site, and looks like a crankcase sensor problem maybe...... what do you guys think??
Thanks
Rob

Right done the pedal trick test, and come up with code 0335, that seems to be the Cranksaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction!!
so guys is it just an easy fix to replace the sensor?
Can you tell me where it is?
and is it one of those Vx parts only jobbies and do I need to take out a 2nd mortgage ::) :'( ta

genuine only, patern dont last, about 60 sobs.
Sensor is by the oil filter, look in behind pass front  wheel under door. Plug is rear of plenum re route the wire away from the exhaust, guide in maintenance, link below.

Thanks, think I will order that from Vx and get the motor to work, where it will be easier to get underneath, thanks for all the help and advice.
