Title: Door removal

Thanks to Elite Pete I've now got a door to replace my bashed one.

Had a quick look and the multi connector and chek strap look easy enough to release, but what about the two hinges? How do those pins come out. Is it just a case of them being a tight fit or is there a special tool needed?

(other cars I've worked on had hex head bolts so fairly obvious they unscrewed - but these, well I'm stumped)

They are simply friction fit :)

you need to pull the pins out and unbolt the check strap, the the door lifts away, best if you have someone to help as the door is bloody heavy.

the pins have plastic caps on them (well meant to) take these off to get the the flared end.  :y

Put a pair of mole grips on the door pin the knock the top one down with a hammer, the bottom one knocks up, really easy you could have done it while you were here  :y

I made

You then need a lump hammer to hit it with!  ;)

Well I managed it eventually. I got some grips over the curled lip of the pins and whacked on the grips. Eventually they came loose.

I was doing it myself so I had a couple of axle stands supporting the door.

The worst part was doing it in the cold. I've come inside now and my fingers feel like they're burning its so warm in here.
