hi all i have just been to look at a leather interior to replace the cloth in my v6 est and the drivers electric seat does not operate at all,the passenger seat works as it should,so this i presume rules out the fuse.i tested the power to the seat and it seems to have power as far as the base but on taking the control panel off the side of the seat i can find no lives at the switches.i cannot remove the seat as it is all the way back concealing the two rear bolts.anyone have any ideas what the problem is and is there a manual way of operating the seat like say a broken electric sunroof?thanks

If you look down the middle of the motor you'll see a 4mm(ish) square hole. That's for the manual handle that would have come with the car when new. I saw my first last week in Marcin's new car! :y

Have a look down the side by the seatbelt bracket, the one you plug the moving part into ... there is a small gap between the seatbelt "stalk" and the seat, at the bottom of which is a gap in the seat rail.
Twice now, once on both miggies, I've had coins fall out of my pocket and drop down that gap and get lodged against the seat rail "tooths" ... the seat will then not move. Luckily for me I was able to remove the coins with one of those 3-prong wire gripper things, long thin flexible thing, plunger at one end .. 3 spring loaded wires at the other ... if that makes sense..

thanks for that i will have a look 2moz but i really think the problem lies with the power supply or motor as operating all the buttons doesnt even get a whirr from any where in the seat its just dead.

Do both seats fail to operate - they have a common fuse?
I've had a similar problem - after much fiddling around and then doing nothing the inoperable seat started working again and has done for a couple of months.
