is there a pump to the heater located under the expansion tank which connects the two pipes that come out the bulk head to the hbv??
-
On some models, yes. Its to allow you to run the heater in the cabin once the engine is switched off so as to keep the cabin warm for when you clamber back in.....
-
IIRC third pump for heater (2nd is on passenger side of radiator, all V6`s and some 4 cyl post `95) was only standard fitment on MV6 plod spec. Known as "winter pack". Some of the 2.5`s had them fitted but very few. Are you still without heat Penny :question

Good edit, but not a great deal of use to the peeps who asked for what the heater thing did..... 8-)

Right I have replaced all fan fuses, put on new expansion tank and sensor, replaced the HBV the single pipe that feeds from round the back of the engine is hot,the top pipe that runs past the header tank to the HBV is hot, the one underneath which goes to bulkhead is not as hot, bottom pipe from HBV to bulk head does not get hot.still no heater
-
Hi Penny, Did you have the heater matrix flushed :question
-
Yes have flushed the heater matrix, that when checking the pipes were all back in place i noticed the connecter under the expansion tank and wondered if this was some kind of pump, do you think i need a new matrix for the heater or could this still be a blockage somewhere?
-
Forget about the redundant connector. Look at the pics in this link http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152565204. The hose that has been removed in pic, is that the one getting hot and is the lower one (still connected in pic) staying cold. Have you connected the vac pipes correctly :question
-
OK i think i have connected the vac pipes correctly put them back as intially found them I guess these are the small black ones.
The bottom pipe that passes the header tank, thats not so warm would connect where the pipe in the picture is disconnected.
The bottom pipe from the bulkhead goes round to a T junction then to bottom connection of HBV this pipe is cold.
The top pipe going past the header tank connects straight to the top section of HBV this pipe is Hot
