How do I remove the adjustable Monroe rear shocks?? Its on an estate :y

same as normal undo top and bottom conections, unclip/remove air pipe :y

Thats assuming I have ever removed a shock absorber before...I havent lol

You may not get them off in one piece :(

When I needed to drop the shocks to replace the springs, the bottom seemed welded on, no way that was gonna pop off without shredding the rubber.

That's because the inner sleeve is dowelled into a recess in the trailing link. It ensures a robust fit between the shocker lower mount/trailing link, and reduces the stress on the shocker lower bolt.
Agreed, it can be difficult to remove.
