Title: Irmscher alloys from '98 MV6
Post by: howardmoon on 05 February 2009, 18:05:30
Hi chaps, do we know if these can be repaired if damaged? I have a good set on the car and a set of 4 spares which need a refurb. However one of them has a flat spot on the rim. I was going to sell them on eBay as they're taking up space in my garage, but a set of 3 probably won't sell

Cheers, Paul

Generally can't be repaired (Pre facelift MV6 wheels are very prone to buckling), however it may be worth talking to Tony at 'Wheels in Motion' as he is looking at getting in some specialist equipment that can repair some types of damage.

they can be repaired, but not really worthwhile.

Nice looking wheels, but soft as shite.  I have 9 of them, 7 buckled or ovaled.

Should have weighed 'em in when scrap prices were high.  ;)  :y  :y

i guess there's no point even trying to ebay them these days. when i got them off ebay it too 3 auctions before I won them. Now you don't even see them for sale. i'd like some space back in my garage, but looks like i'll keep them just in case one of those on the card cops it :(

Worth keeping one as a spare...would have thought you could ebay a single wheel easy enough for those needing just the one to replace a buckled wheel...
