Title: 1996 Omega 2.0 16v Heater Problems
Post by: magicmart123 on 06 February 2009, 10:39:32
Hi folks.

I've searched the posts but couldn't find anything relating to my query.

I was getting little or no heat from the vents prior to changing the thermostat in this vehicle. Now I'm still getting little or no heat but now the temperature won't even reach anywhere near 90 on the guage. So I'm stumped.

Is there something I've maybe missed in the bleeding process? All I did was fill the exp tank to the max level, put cap back on, run car with heater up full until fan cut in then switched off, waited for it to cool, then topped up coolant.
On an 18 mile journey the temp never went anywhere near the 90 marker. Very confused (if only it was as reliable as a BMW)

Any advice is most gratefully received  :y

Sounds to me like your old thermostat wasn't broken, but your new one is.  :'(

Have you flushed your heater matrix, this could be partially blocked reducing cabin heat.

made a massive difference when I flushed mine.

this is regardless of a thermostat issue.
