no way i can see what type it is without stripping it down on top, had the scuttle off and still cant see. will have to strip the plenum off now. have to wait for weather though. my hands are froze up after 30 mins ou there. and the friggin kids pelted me with snowballs ;D ;D

You don't need to remove the plenum to get the DIS pack off. I managed with a 1/4" drive socket set, used ordinary hex socket as I didn't have a Torx. It is possible, and I don't have child like hands! ;) :y :y

Yes you can use normal hex sockets. Put a lot of weight on it though.
I did my dads 2.5 v6 coil pack a while back and nearly rounded one of the bolts using a hex socket. Would have been impossible to get out had I completely wrecked it :o

i couldnt even see it with the scuttle tray off, and barely got my hands down. gonna try again in morning, weathers not good at moment.

No, neither could I :y The first time I saw it was as the last bolt was undone & I pull the DIS up and out. ;) ;)

I have just replaced mine, a bitch of a job. I didn't put it back in the same position though, I moved it to the side of the engine.
Try this link, sorry it's a different Forum but I use both as others do.
