Can anyone give me tips on removing the starter motor on a 2.5 V6. do I have to remove the engine mount to get it out of the car? :-/
-
Yes.....never seen a starter fail on a petrol Omega.....

Did this two weeks ago only took just over the hour, engine mount plus engine plate will need to be removed, put front of miggy up on ramps undo both bolts from engine mounts put some wood on oil sump and jack engine up just so you can remove the engine mount and i found it better to undo top bolt on starter from top, easy really :y Good luck
Oh don't forget to take leads off from battery!!

Thanks
I plan to do the Job this Saturday. I found a company in Birmingham that have refubished starters for £20 not bad? :-?

Are you sure its the starter ? I have a brand new one sitting here that I bought a few months back when I thought my starter was goosed but in the end it wasnt. Problem just went away on its own.....
£20 is what I paid for the brand new one..... if I was in brum you could have it for that.

One more thing undo the plastic air intakes from top front of engine as they won't lift with engine they stay with rad,
Good luck :y

Hi Folks,
I have change the motor now. Thanks to every one.
The old one was broken as you can see. I can only guess Dewhurst must be missing one of their staff who worked on this car!!!
