Title: cracked door mirror glass
Post by: howardmoon on 06 February 2009, 12:31:11
 :(

Was investigating why my passenger door mirror isn't moving when I adjust it from inside, and I've cracked the glass!! VX want 62 quid for a new one......????
Are there any aftermarket ones that are any good? I'm not too worried about the heating side of things as that's not worked for years.

Cheers, Paul

have you thought about a stick on mirror - you said you were not concerned about heating.

Or try these they may have Omega mirrors tho there site doesnt list Omegas - but gives a phone number

I had stick on mirrors on my Astra when I first acquired it. They were crap. The field of vision was very narrow and after I nearly went into the side of a transit on the motor I changed them both, one was new from Vauxhal & the other was new-to-me from eBay. I can now see behind properly.

Thanks for the advice guys. I called wingmirrorman, they don't do Omega ones, but sell stick-ons for 12 quid or so. So I bought myself a complete mirror unit off ebay for 22 quid.....glass, motor, everything. So for a few quid more I get my heated glass and adjustability back.

Cheers, Paul

Halfrauds have them. My passenger side mirror had cracked straight down the middle. It looks fine and the vision is more than acceptable. Quite surprised to find it de-mists ok as well, although it does take slightly longer than the original on the drivers side.
