Title: help with a fault code please
Post by: puffa on 12 February 2009, 09:40:36
have done the pedal test and come up with three codes

0420
0430
both the above are to do with the cats on bank 1 and bank 2 although it has just flown through the MOT

it also threw up 0115 which is listed as detailed below

P0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input
P0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Low Input
P0115 Engine coolant temperature circuit range/performanceProblem

what do i need to do to fix this one, is it common and what issues are it likely to cause if left ??

anyone have any ideas ??

cheers Steve.

Is the engine getting upto temp?

Has any work recently been done on the engine?

Its sudgesting an issue with the coolant temp sensor or related wiring/connectors on the coolant bridge

Engine gets to temp and sits steady all day long, no work has been done recently, and nothing seems unusual, the engine management light comes in in the rain and goes off in a day or two after the rain stops, hence doing the pedal test to see what causes that, and thats what threw this one up.

That`s a clue. Leaking from windscreen seal possibly and affeecting coolant bridge sensor wiring :-/

My windscreen seal  had come away. Didnt do the wiper mech much good, had to change the rose joint con rods to get rid of the play. New windscreen from Autoglass fixed the seal. Tried to get a heat reflective screen but they didnt know if the rain sensor would work so they refused to fit it.

also the cat codes can be fixed by moving the 2nd o2 sensor behind the the main cats, in case you didnt know. :-)
