Just got a 3.2 lump which had an oil cooler failure at 60k. Just wondering if its worth doing the headgaskets anyway?? Aswell as general top-end overhaul??
-
they are usually very strong, i would say no, just get the oil cooler done.

Nope, unless you want them cleaned up and checked out (i.e. stage 1 port and a good clean with new stem seals)
Remember that the 3.2 and 2.6 have steel headgaskets

Ahh right wasn't aware the 3.2 was a full steel headgasket, should be ok then :)
Only thing which did happen was the oil light flickered on when the cooler dumped the oil into the coolant system, other than that, engine is said to be fine & no knocks, noises or smoke.
It was owned by a women since new ;D

As you would expect as the oil cooler is on the high pressure side so the oil pressure would suddenly drop

Fair enough :) I'll just crack on getting it sorted for fitting to the Omega! No doubt I'll get some funny looks from the stealers when I give them the engine number & ask for bits relating to the Omega as its stamped Z32SE on the block ;D ;D

Why use the dealers......
-
Can get things at a staff discount rate or less on other things now, so not just TC or usual 10% trade.
Can do me full oilcooler kit for £60 inc governments tea fund, so not too bad I think for genuine. Plus going to get cambelt kit for it too.
Everything else I'm just going to steal from Daz tomorrow ;D
