Title: Battery Restraint
Post by: Dubious on 17 February 2009, 16:42:03
I have a 2.5 V6 facelift, and took the battery out to recharge it. I was a bit surprised that it just lifted out (after I'd disconnected the electrics), as I was expecting it to be bolted in somehow. It's charged OK, and I've put it back in but shouldn't there be some sort of restraint on it ?

Thanks.

Yes there should be a small bracket with a bolt going through it, into the battery tray this is right at the front of the battery mine was missing too so made a bracket out of some strong plastic & just drilled through it & put a bolt through it. :y

im sure a breaker will be along. Although probably not the biggest job they ever had. Its a small part and a bolt. Cant be more than a couple of quid from a dealer... but then again.

Have you checked the bolt hole for the battery clamp to see if its OK.
A lot of people leave the clamp off if the bolt is broken in the hole !!
