Title: Brad Pad Warning Light...safe for a journey?
Post by: HotShot on 28 December 2008, 10:06:21
I am planning [today] to go on a 200 mile round trip.
The Brake Pad warning light comes on when I switch the engine off, just started doing that.

Will I end up destroying disc, or will it be safe for a gentle 200 mile round trip?

TIA

Should be fine if its just happened unless you have drastically uneven wear on the pads.

Much appreciated.

Was going to have to take the wife's car - it feels like a Smart car when loaded with the family!

Thanks and a very Happy New Year to you all.

I wouldn't go and try to break the world land speed record but you should be OK ;)

It should be fine, just had new disc and pads fitted on mine, and it still gives off the warning  ::)

brake pad sensors must be changed also..after you will not have this warning..

Thank you.

I managed to squeeze 500 miles (small journeys) out of the old pads, then replaced pads, discs & the sensors - all warnings cleared now.
