Title: German Ebay PayPal?

Chaps,

Why is it that hardly anybody on German Ebay takes PayPal? There's lot's of lovely goodies on there but I'm loathe to part with my money without the protection that Paypal gives. Anybody any thoughts/ideas?

I queried this with Paypal and Ebay recently. Apparently, the Germans don't like paying the Paypal charges and its very common for them just to give out their bank account numbers. Ebay transactions are largely based on trust but to us Brits it seems that that is pushing trust just a bit too far.

I don't mind buying goods in that way and will electronically transfer cash to a seller in Germany. I haven't been let down yet.. but if I'm selling goods, no way do I give my account details, there are plenty other ways they can send me payment.  :y

i do an international money transfer if i am buying from Germany, it does cost a little but it works very well
