Title: Auto stalling on trailing throttle
Post by: Varche on 02 March 2009, 14:48:02
Had an embarrassing morning towing a trailer load of granular fertiliser. The Omega kept dying but only at times when I hadn't got my foot on the throttle. It would restart easy enough and ticks over at exactly 500 rpm when hot. Bit of a smell of oil but couldn't see any drips or oil haze cloud. No misfire either but once whilst ticking over the engine sort of hesitated and then caught up with itself.

Could it be as simple as the IAC valve? I must say I haven't cleaned it for at least 3 months/ 1000 miles! The oil might be the VX cam cover gasket going again. I'll pull a few plug leads later and do a paperclip test when it has cooled down and stopped raining.

Any suggestions please?

I had a similar auto problem because the box was low on fluid for whatever reason. But I'm no expert.
