Post by: gavbriggs on 03 March 2009, 11:27:49
ok fellas, aquired the gubbins normally associated with cruise control(cc)

had a look at the top of the turret and there are 2 2 pin connectors and no multi plug. the actuator doesnt have any wire on it so i have no idea how to wire it up.

any chance you could post a pic up.  Never heard of a V6 without the multiplug - wonder if it has been moved at some point?

thery are definitely not cruise multiplugs!!!!

I'll trace where the wiring runs from the main loom to help you locate it.  wonder what those two are?????

if your car is like my estate, 97 2.5 v6 gls, it wont have the wiring in place for the cruise control, it seems from 97 onwards most GLS spec cars were not fitted with the full loom.

another way to confirm this is to take off the steering column surround, and look behind the indicator stalk for the small connector that normally connects to the cruise stalk, im certain you wont find it.

 :(

another way to confirm if your car has the full wiring loom is to pop off the blanks above the stereo and look to see if there is connectors for the heated seat switches, you should see the shiney connections through the holes, if the holes are just empty then you deffo dont have the full loom.

Mines a May 94 'L' 2.0 16v GLS & mines got the 'full' loom.
To be honest I thought all miggys had this loom, why in 97 did VX change this??
The reason I bought the measly GlS spec cos I could'nt afford an Elite at the time, but I knew I could intrechange parts from a better spec miggy,(ELITE) as i've done! the only downfall is its got the leccy sunroof instead of the aircon :( (both optional extras)

having looked at mine, the cruise wiring comes from the loom near the brake fluid sensor.  looks like your loom is without this.  Those multiplug:  I reckon one is the coolant sensor - no idea of the other

you can supplement the existing loom to run cruise but it will be some considerable work
