Title: 2.2 Diesel.
Post by: Glassback on 02 March 2009, 10:31:19
I have just seen a nice Y reg sept 01, 2.2 Diesel saloon with 123.k on the clock. does any one have any ideas on how much I should be paying for it? the AD doesn't mention any history, MOT till Jan 2010. Also does any one know what problems I am likely to encounter with this sort of  mileage. Will any belts need changing etc? I have never had a Diesel before so I dont know what to look out for.  Thanks in advance.

if its been regularly serviced (which does NOT mean as per Vauxhalls stupid, pathetic schedule), generally quite reliable.  Few issues around pressure sensor, nothing major.

If the oil changes have been neglected, the turbos can cause issues.

Having a timing chain, if the oil changes are below par, you will also get excessive wear on the timing chains.

Many thanks for your reply' s  It seems the car has been regularly maintained, no smoke from exhaust under heavy revs when warmed up. And every thing works. Can you tell me what you mean by "Few issues around pressure sensor," thank you.

As per most Vx diesels, the senosr itself fails, or more commonly, it clogs up
