Thanks

There will be loads of more informed people than me but here are some pointers....
These are the issues that I had or avoided....

Check all dash lights come on and then off when turning key.  Should be airbag light, Engine Management light x 2, Traction Control light. oil light and handbrake light.

Check rear suspension coils, these tend to fail at 90-100k.  If snapped, £120 to fix.
Same with front wishbones - make sure no knocking noise from front suspension.  £100 or so to put right.

Proof of cambelt change at 40K is a must.  Water pump at the 80k cambelt change is ideal too.

Rear pads usually go at 90-100k miles also.  You get no warning, just grinding and then discs need doing too!

Unless this is ex-police, it should have satnav stereo.  Sometimes, these get removed.  These cost over £1,200 at Vauxhall and are rare to find on ebay, etc....  Colour screens are an extra that people rarely took up, so if this has one, expect to pay £200-300 extra.

Rear blinds were removed at around this age so there may be one blank button on the control panel (bottom left).

Make sure you have the passport with all stereo codes, etc...

Make sure there is some sort of service history as well. oil change every 4-5k is advisable, and check for exessive front tyre wear on the inside edges, this is a CAMBER PROBLEM NOT TRACKING, but it can be adjusted.. Check the plug holes for oil , this is a sure sign that the cam cover gaskets need replacing and you should only use gen vx parts. When you can make sure you get the breathers checked and CLEANED, as it is blocked breathers that cause the cam cover gaskets to fail. All electrical systems should work as normal and ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH SHOULD GO OUT A FEW SECONDS AFTER THE ENGINE HAS STARTED.. The car should start on the first turn of the key without exsessive cranking.Cam belt and tensioners MUST be changed every 40.000 or 4 years without fail.Fail to do this and you will ruin the top end of your v6.EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!.CHECK THAT BEFORE YOU BUY AND AJUST THE PRICE AS REQUIRED.£250-300. :y

It's not too easy to get to the plug recesses on the 3.2 as it has the COP coil pack bolted over the top of the plugs.

 :o

It's not desperately easy with a screwdriver, especially on the passenger side. If a potential buyer of my car did what I had to do to change my plugs I would tell him to take a hike ;D
