How the fvck do I get into a deadlocked Omega with a flat battery? :'(
-
Ive heard something about putting power to the starter motor but im not sure whats involved , im sure someone who does will be along shortly :-/

Use the key in the drivers door to unlock. It will be very very stiff, almost to the point that you think you will break the key, but it will open...

Or you could do this :-[

Can you use the key on the boot? I'm sure i've sent a nubile young female through my gap before.

Note that the lock button doesn't pop up when you do this but the lock will release and let you into the car.

Yeah go for it, if you're having issues with key stress, keep doing the same turn with a bit of a snatch and grab, it will go eventually - else the boot is the way in.

With a pre face lift saloon you can open the boot, connect a battery to the boot light terminals & open your car in the normal way.
As said, the theory is that you can still open the driver's door with the key, but mine wasn't playing, hence via the boot light.

Thatnks for the replys guys!
The driver's door lock, (obviously not one in the passenger's door), and the boot lock were seized solid.
Managed, with the assistance of some WD40, to get the driver's lock moving, (boot lock completely siezed to the point I couldn't get the key in).
The thing that foxed me though was the fact that the door pin didn't lift! I think I'd managed to get it unlocked fairly quickly, but didn't think I had 'cos the pin was still down! ::)
Anyway, all sorted now.
Sod's law though isn't it?!?!?! I had/have lots to do this afternoon and the very first thing I had to do was move the Omega. I couldn't do anything else until I'd managed to shift it!! I was absolutely raging for a wee while there!! >:(
But now I'm like..... :)

Best thing if cars not used much is to lock but not deadlock it...just for this very reason :y

I would've, but I was confident the battery was a strong one It'll be getting left slightly less secure now that's for sure, but at least it'll be out of sight!

clamp on a spare battery to the the starter motor's big read lead and on to the chassis underneath the car. This should provide enough juice so you can unlock the car
:y
Although do we really need 2 threads with the same problem??

Nope, but depends if a new member did a search first or not..... ;)

Hi mate. I had the same with mine a few weeks ago. Put key in drivers door lock and turn it. It will feel stiff then move but the internal doorpin wont pop up. The drivers door will be unlocked tho. Hope this helpss mate. Mark
