I'm getting a slight knock through the steering column when turning right.
It doesn't happen when turning left.
Checked all the obvious, no play anywhere.

Is it a one off knock as you turn the steering wheel or a regular knocking as the wheels rotate and the car drives?

hi,
I had a knock on the passenger side, only when moving slow on turning close to full lock. It went to VX and they could not find any thing - in the end found it by having someone else turn the wheels while i checked the front - it turned out to be a worn part at the top of the suspension strut (you could see the whole top of the strut slightly move which inturn made the spring bounce and make the noise.). The spring was complete no broken links

A one off knock as I turn the steering wheel, seems to be coming from the steering wheel area.

I had a similar problem when I first bought my car.It only made the noise on right turn,we traced it back to the steering coloumn, which I ended up just replacing as the noise was very annoying. When looked at base spline of old one it had started to rust(maybe from standing a while )and after fitting the new(2nd hand) one problem went.
