Right… I have made a bit of a schoolboy error and need to fix/replace my engine… but I have a few questions if anyone can help? Mainly what are the differences between..
3.2 and 3.0… is it just bore or stroke as well? (I have a spare 3.0 bottom end)
3.2 MV6 and 3.2 from a Monterey etc… same bottom end just different heads for the MV bit?
That is more or less it for now as I need to explore my options

no the monteray is an ISUZU Derived engine 3.2 V6 190BHP
Out 3.2 is called the Y32SE 24v 217bhp
the moteray engine is completely different to the omegas so nothing will fit i dont think

What year is the 3.0 engine from?
-
3.0 is from a 96 omega elite...
I slightly drifted it a bit low on oil and have a knackered bottom end... schoolboy error! Want to get her sorted though :)
-
Ooooh, just found on ebay, how different is the vectra GSI 3.2?
Hopefully be looking into sump baffles and why it was trying to throw oil into the heads to stop this happening again! :y

At that age engine the heads will not allow fixing of the coil per plug setup.

You can make an engine out of yours and the Vectra one

Well I was thinking, over bore the 3.0 to 3.2 (if thats the only difference regarding capacity) Use that bottom end, rods and crank with the 3.2 pistons (I already have a set of Saab 9000 rods with the oil holes) and fit all the 3.2 head stuff on :)

That may be a plan then... I notice the Vectra doesnt have the dual ram effort thingy, any reason for that? Must admit I drove a 3.2 vectra GSi years ago and it seemed a bit quicker, although the gears where definatly longer (that still doesnt make sense!)

Vectra 3.2 is a Z32SE Omega V6 is a Y32SE im around 70% confident on this there are diferences between the 2

I'm converting the Z32 for use in an Omega at the moment, have a pretty big list of parts and prices too if you need any info on that. Mainly just seals, etc, but also alot is unit order, so I've got quite a few bits more than I need (like 5 seals when I need 1)

Ah, cheers Paul! :y
Well the engine is out, just waiting for an engine stand to assess the amount of damage :)
